Les agents de nivellement (agents de nivellement de revêtement, agents de nivellement d'encre) réduisent la tension superficielle des revêtements pour améliorer la mouillabilité du substrat. Augmentation de la résistance au glissement et aux rayures de la surface et des propriétés anti-blocage, améliorent le nivellement, améliorent la brillance et empêchent le vortex de Bernard. Il peut s'ajouter au système de revêtement à base de solvant, sans solvant et à base d'eau.
